NATURE lovers are being asked to watch out for the wildlife which visits their gardens.
As part of the annual Make Your Nature Count campaign, the RSPB this year is asking people to look out for grass snake, great crested newt, frog, toad, stag beetle, bat, hedgehog and badger.
To take part, simply pick an hour on one day between June 4-12 and submit your results at www.rspb.org.uk/naturecount

Farmers to benefit from renewable heat incentive

OPPORTUNITIES for farmers to provide heat services from renewable technologies such as bioenergy, solar and ground source heat pumps are set to grow rapidly, according to the NFU.
This follows the long-awaited announcement of details of the Government's ground-breaking £860 million Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Displacing oil-fired and natural gas heating, as well as coal, the RHI will add to UK energy security at a time of rising costs for heating fuels, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making a major contribution to Britain's obligations under the European Renewable Energy Directive.
RHI brings heat relief to rural businesses

THE launch of the Renewable Heat Incentive last month will help farmers and rural businesses invest in renewable heat technologies, reducing costs and carbon footprints.
The £860 million government scheme is the first of its kind in the world, providing long term support for renewable heat technologies. Subsidies will be paid to those who install the technology which includes, biomass boilers, energy from waste combustion, ground source heat pumps, deep geothermal and the injection of biomethane into the grid.
